Alpha releases are preview software intended for evaluation in a non-production environment.
Before you start
You need Dokploy 0.30.5, installing on its local server with the standard dokploy-network, websecure entrypoint and letsencrypt resolver. The server needs 4 CPUs, 8 GB of memory, 40 GiB of free disk space and reachable ports 80 and 443. Point a DNS name for the console, such as console.example.com, at the server. You choose the app and file addresses later in the console.
1. Create the Compose service
In a Dokploy project, create a Compose service. On General, choose the Raw source, paste the launcher below unchanged and save. Leave Domains empty and keep the service's App Name.
Download the current alpha launcher. Open the downloaded JSON file as text and paste its complete contents.
2. Create a Dokploy API key
In Dokploy, open your Profile and create an API key named appsweet-installer. Copy the key.
3. Fill in Environment
Open the service's Environment, paste this block and replace the first three values:
APPSWEET_CONSOLE_HOSTNAME: the console's DNS name, withouthttps://.APPSWEET_DOKPLOY_SERVICE_URL: the address in your browser while you view this Compose service in Dokploy.APPSWEET_DOKPLOY_API_KEY: the API key from step 2.
APPSWEET_CONSOLE_HOSTNAME=console.example.com APPSWEET_DOKPLOY_SERVICE_URL=PASTE_THIS_SERVICE_PAGE_URL APPSWEET_DOKPLOY_API_KEY=PASTE_YOUR_DOKPLOY_API_KEY APPSWEET_INSTALLATION_KEY=PASTE_A_NEW_48_CHARACTER_KEY
Replace the last value with a new installation key: 32–128 characters of letters, digits, _ or -. In a password manager, generate 48 characters with letters and digits and no symbols.
Save. Also save the installation key, the last value, in your password manager: you need it to claim the console.
4. Deploy and set up AppSweet
Press Deploy once. A second deployment follows automatically.
Open https://<console hostname>/ and claim the installation within 24 hours: enter the installation key, your company name, your name, your email address and a password. You become the company owner.
Then follow the console:
- Addresses, Storage and Email. Send the test email; your mail server must use TLS or STARTTLS.
- Backups & recovery.
- Review & apply. AppSweet's services start now.
- Confirm your password. This creates your owner account in the app, with the same email address and password.
- Save the recovery key.
- Activate company. This needs a successful test email.
Finally, install AppSweet for Mac, enter the company endpoint the console shows, and sign in.
After setup, AppSweet replaces the API key with its own and deletes appsweet-installer. From now on, your console password and app password change separately.
If something goes wrong
- Keep the service and its volumes. Never delete volumes to retry.
- Before the console appears: correct the value the deployment log reports, save, and press Deploy again.
- Do not press Deploy while a deployment is queued or running.
- A lost installation key, or a claim that expired, needs operator recovery.
